The Tailors

Despite the hardships of the pandemic, Woolloongabba’s famed Logan Road precinct grew by leaps and bounds. The crew behind Canvas Club led the boom, opening Cuban-inspired speakeasy The Tailors in a vacant spot next to the storied cocktail bar. Inspired by owner Dan Rodriguez’s travels across South America, The Tailors draws upon the region’s love of hidden, local-secret sipping spots. Disguised as a tailor shop, guests enter into a dressing room before pushing further into the venue proper, which boasts a slick modern interior complete with its own bar and stage. Rum is a specialty, with roughly 50 unique rums sourced from the Caribbean and the Americas, while bar snacks from the Canvas Club kitchen will also be on offer.Tiki and Latin American influences saturate the cocktail offering, which features ten kinds of concoctions to choose from. Looking to bring a bit of music back to the street, The Tailors also hosts live Cuban salsa groups and more intimate jazz ensembles on Thursday, Friday and Saturdays.
