The Slab Hut Art and Craft

Surrounded by towering gum trees and the expansive John Scott Park sits The Slab Hut Art and Craft. Inside the recycled corrugated iron exterior, the Samford Art and Craft Association display a treasure trove of handmade bits and pieces. An exposed timber ceiling reveals the earthy tones of Australia’s native gum tree, while the polished wooden floor is made entirely of Yellow Gum. The collection of local artwork follows the Australiana theme in the form of landscape paintings, woodwork and native wildlife adornments. Framed paintings, knitted baby clothing, wooden vases, quilts, pottery, children’s toys, tea cosies, handmade soap, tea towels, glass wear and gift cards fill the tiny shop to the brim.
