The Record Exchange

The Record Exchange sells new and secondhand music across vinyl, CD and cassette, as well as music videos and DVDs. One could easily spend hours rummaging through the collection of pop, punk, reggae, rock and classic sounds, which span the entire length of the narrow store. The store’s owner Richard, who once owned a record store on Hollywood Boulevard, says the local store is the biggest new and used record store in the Southern Hemisphere and has up to 200,000 records at any one time. This dusty, offbeat alcove of sound lets you exchange old records, find new ones, pick up your first record player, or rediscover that beloved band t-shirt you’ve been looking for. The staff offers advice for traders and hopes to teach new generations of vinyl enthusiasts to appreciate the value of music.
