The One Mile

It’s been a big year for Woolloongabba’s drinking and dining scene, with venues like Mr Badger’s, Sasso Italiano, The Tailors and The Princess Theatre calling the suburb home in 2021. One last venue has opened doors just in time for the silly season – The One Mile is now slinging premium wines and beer, as well as a menu of paddock-to-plate fare, from the old Pearl Cafe space on Logan Road. Designed as a local watering hole for folks seeking a down-to-earth spot to relax, catch up with friends or watch some live sport, The One Mile is a multifaceted haunt boasting a twos bar, a casual dining area and a restaurant spread across two levels. Guests can pop in for grazing snacks like spicy buffalo wings, loaded nachos, antipasto platters and pizza, or opt for heartier plates of chicken parmigiana, beef-and-Guinness pie, beer-battered fish and chips, burgers and grass-fed rump steaks. Over at the bar, punters can select from a killer line-up of local beers as well as a wine list curated by restaurateur and vino guru Thierry Galichet (La Cache à Vín). If you’re looking to schedule a visit to Woolloongabba to catch up on all the new goodness, plot a stop at The One Mile into your crawl itinerary.
