The Old Seven

In a coup for our ever-growing suburban hospitality scene, Camp Hill welcomed a new cafe and wine bar – The Old Seven – to Old Cleveland Road in November 2018. Helping to decentralise the inner-city’s hold on top-notch drinking experienced, The Old Seven adds a touch of European class to Brisbane’s southeast. The venue comes from local husband-and-wife duo Matt and Nellie Lucas, who have drawn upon their shared passion for wine, food, travel and entertaining, and Matt’s 20-plus years’ experience in the liquor industry for the bar. The Old Seven takes its inspiration from the petite cafe-cum-wine bars of France, serving up cheese and charcuterie boards (as well as takeaway fromage and smallgoods), bite-size tartines and decadent cheesy jaffles, as well as a number of vegan options. Coffee and takeaway bites accompany the menu by day, followed by a hand-selected list of worldly wines as the sun sets. Also of note – a cellar bar will be built downstairs to provide a charming and intimate function space in the coming months.
