West End welcomed a new local hangout in the form of The Montague Hotel in mid-April 2017. Located on the corner of Montague Road and Kurilpa Street, the gastropub – nicknamed ‘The Monty’ – serves up a menu for all tastes, ranging from home-style comfort food to superfood dishes. Diners can find pub-style eats such as burgers, beer-battered pickles and slow-cooked meats from the charcoal rotisserie, alongside healthy options of rainbow wraps and seed salads. Copper beer tanks hang as a feature over the bar, which is home to more than 17 premium and craft beers on tap – including The Monty’s own brews as well as local favourites.
