Packing a lunch box in a Brisbane summer is a hazardous task. Wilted lettuce and condensation droplets are the norm – and that’s on days when heat-induced lethargy doesn’t defeat us altogether. Our tastebuds owe much to South Brisbane’s The Lunch Box Kiosk, which is pledging to serve fresh, ready-to-eat, locally made meals from some of Brisbane’s best up-and-coming food businesses. An initiative of food business incubator Wandering Cooks, The Lunch Box Kiosk operates every Thursday from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm, with plans to extend to additional weekdays in the near future. All meals are under $10, but keep in mind The Lunch Box Kiosk is cash only.
