The Low Road Cafe
Windsor locale The Low Road Cafe is an oasis of tropical kitsch, complementing all things tiki with fun and moreish foodstuffs. From streetview, bright pink palm tree cutouts sprout from a garden bed, while inside hanging foliage, a bamboo lounge and a lobster-print curtain follow the theme. It’s entirely possible that your Genovese coffee will come in a novelty mug, and highly likely that the homemade muesli (which is roasted with coffee, coconut and cocoa) will arrive at your table in a pineapple-shaped wooden bowl. The Breakfast Banana Split sees fresh banana, toasted coconut and frozen whipped banana come together with honey-toasted nuts and grated dark chocolate, while the The Low Road Beans are smoky and spicy, with jalapenos, chipotle sour cream and cheddar on organic sourdough. The Breakfast Salad meets breakfast and lunch halfway, featuring lemony haloumi, dukkah egg, grilled asparagus, roast mushrooms, red onion, fresh herbs and a yoghurt dressing.
