The Lord Alfred

The establishment formerly known as Hotel LA scored a new look (and name) in 2018. The Lord Alfred celebrated 150 years of existence by going back to its roots, restoring and highlighting the building’s rich history across a substantial makeover. After taking over the three-level establishment in October 2017, the new owners immediately got to work steering the vibe towards a food-oriented, community and family-friendly venue, getting started on installing eight (yes, eight) new bars, a venue-wide menu and several new nooks to get cosy in. Punters sit and sip at The Lord Alfred’s breezy outdoor decks, spacious sports bars, lush cocktail-focused nooks, subterranean function spaces and secluded vantage points. The kitchen offers a menu of casual grazing plates and bar snacks (available until late), small and medium dishes, and banquet-style feasts. Each dish has been designed to be mixed and matched and enjoyed anywhere in the venue, in intimate pairings of as part of large groups. The Lord Alfred’s drink offering is expansive, with six bars offering a stellar selection of beer, wine and spirits. Lachlan has raised the bar as far as the wine selection is concerned, with a newly installed wine fridge has been housing more than 900 bottles, and taps have been installed to pour a selection of drops from freshly tapped casks.
