The Fox’s Hollow – Opening Soon

Though Newstead is humming right now with a swathe of new venue openings, the suburb’s metamorphosis is also extending to some of its exisiting venues. In the coming weeks, long-running waterfront locale Malt Pier on Newstead Terrace will transform into day and night haunt The Fox’s Hollow. The venue’s new owners Asher Mifsud and Rebecca Moser are not only looking to establish the venue as a handy spot for coffee in the morning and cocktails in the evening, but also imbue the picturesque dining location with a sense of enchantment and bewitching charm. “We’re looking to create more of a romantic and warm place where you can go to connect,” says Asher of The Fox’s Hollow’s vibe. “One that’s full of wonderment and a bit of magic.” The venue will continue to trade for breakfast and lunch during the day, with slight tweaks expected to breathe a bit of new life into the menu. The biggest change will come at night, with the culinary team currently workshopping a post-sunset menu that will be served with some artful presentation. Though Asher and Rebecca are keeping tight lipped on the new dishes, the duo is forthcoming on The Fox’s Hollow’s new cocktail menu, which has been crafted in collaboration CBK Hospitality Consulting. The bar will will be making all of its syrups in house, weaving traces of fantasy into the libation offering with drinks like Eve’s Apple, Finding Neverland and Practical Magic, which will be available alongside a spruced-up wine list and a host of new spirits on the back bar. Regulars can expect to see some tweaks made to the venue’s decor, too, with a colour scheme of blacks, greys and golds accented by lush greenery and romance-inducing fairy lights. The Fox’s Hollow will debut in the next two-to-three weeks, with evening service expected to commence in late June or early July.
