The Florist Kitchen & Wine Bar

In the final months of 2017, a stylish new bar and eatery popped up on Turbot Street, bringing with it a comfortable atmosphere, a great selection of drinks and menu that spans morning through to evening. The Florist Kitchen & Wine Bar took over the space formerly occupied by Tank Bar and Laneway Dining, giving the tenancy a substantial cosmetic overhaul before instilling its own style of hospitality. At breakfast, patrons can mosey on in for a sit-down feed of morning classics served with a twist, including American pulled-pork benedicts, chermoula green bowls, haloumi bruschetta and beeted avocado. The lunch and dinner menu offers a selection of grab and go street food morsels, share plates to nibble, as well as a range of mains for those that have come hungry. We’re drooling at the sound of the confit duck pancakes, pork belly baos, grilled spatchcock with seasonal vegetables, and lemongrass calamari. As the name attests, The Florist is also a wine bar. When it’s time for knock-offs, thirsty patrons flock to the bar to get a sample of the venue’s sizeable wine list, which includes numerous drops from Australia, New Zealand, France, Italy and Spain. If wine isn’t your thing, craft beers, spirits, cocktails and cocktail jugs are available for you to quench your hard-earned thirst.
