The Dandelion Social
Sarah Clohessy is no stranger to the world of hospitality – she was practically raised within her family’s fine-dining restaurant back in Dublin. After planting roots in Australia, Sarah became enamoured with the idea of opening up here own eatery – a little cafe of her own where home-style hospitality and hearty well-cooked fare was key. The Dandelion Social sits in the spot that once house Where The Wolves Eat, but Sarah and her team have lightened up the space a bit, recruiting local artists to brighten up the walls and help soften the vibe. Under Sarah’s supervision, the kitchen team has crafted a menu that spans breakfast, lunch and dinner, focusing on simple home-cooked flavours and big portions. Breakfast starts wholesome with house-made granola with yoghurt pannacotta and quickly goes hearty – we’re talking eggs Benedict and full Irish breakfast with traditional soda bread. Lunch includes such fare as brie-and-bacon baguettes, beef burgers and traditional Caesar salads, while dinner dishes up ploughman’s boards, slow-braised beef ragout, corn fritters and pistachio-crusted Barramundi. The Dandelion Social hosts roast dinners every Sunday evening (transitioning to pizza or barbecue nights come the warmer months), while the bar pours a selection of wines, spirits and tap beer.
