Only a few months removed from bringing the colourful Sundays Cafe to Rocklea, Giorgina Venzin (Piggyback, Pawpaw) gave the Redlands some love. Birkdale’s The Bloom Room Cafe delivers a London and European-inspired take on cafe hospitality, a departure from the Venzin Group’s penchant for Asian fusion. The space boasts plenty of florals and greenery, while the kitchen serves all-day breakfast and lunch every day of the week, as well as coffee from Veneziano. Diners can snack on a menu full of vegan and gluten-free eats, including English benedicts with dill hollandaise, bangers and mash, sticky-date waffles with almond crumb and toffee sauce, potato hash with green-pea hummus, and peanut butter panna cotta. Beyond coffee, the drinks list also harbours colourful superfood lattes, cold-pressed juices, smoothies and eye-catching fizzes, which come topped with fairy floss.
