Inhabitants of Brisbane’s north rejoiced at the arrival of a bar that specialised in good beer and good food almost exclusively. Tapworks Bar & Grill arrived at Westfield Chermside as part of its large 2017 expansion, claiming a spacious tenancy in the heart of the centre’s food precinct. Tapworks offers a huge selection of crafty goodness off tap and in bottles – from familiar faces to experimental newcomers. Thirty taps are categorised into three categories – beers you know and love, beers that are worth knowing, and beers for the adventurous drinkers. As for the nosh, the menu will have you exclaiming, “Oh my gosh!” Small bites such as beer-battered onion rings, mac and cheese squares, and crispy polenta bites, while big bites include pulled-pork loaded fries, chilli nachos and pork finger ribs. As if that wasn’t enough to satisfy, the kitchen also cooks up a range of hot dogs, burgers and sandwiches, sizeable mains and a mouth-watering range of char-grilled steaks.
