Coffee-loving locals in the western suburbs were blessed with another caffeine house of their own in 2020 with the arrival of Sweetshop Specialty Coffee. Found on the corner of Leworthy Street and Stuartholme Road in Bardon, the 40-seat eatery boasts a light and modern aesthetic courtesy of Clui Design a specialised focus on top-notch brews and all-day brunch. Melbourne roaster Seven Seeds on deck as the house espresso roast, but patrons can also expect a rotating selection of blends and single origins from guest roasters – many of Australia’s best. Filter coffee is a focus, with attention paid to light roasts on the brighter and fruitier end of the spectrum, though sippers will also be able to enjoy milky coffees, one-and-ones, Sweetshop’s own trifecta, chai lattes, hot chocolates, juices, smoothies, sodas and loose-lead teas. Sweetshop’s food menu has been designed to cover all important brunch bases, but team have ensured each dish is given a seasonal sprucing to elevate the food several notches above standard. At all times there will be a granola, avocado smash, brekkie burger, waffle-based dish, nourish bowl and a chorizo dish, as well as gourmet goodies from Crust & Co. Artisan Baking.
