Superfly Pizza

In mid 2019, Woolloongabba’s laneway izakaya Superfly Funk Eye closed its doors in anticipation of a concept overhaul. The venue entered its chrysalis and emerged a month later with a new look and a new menu – Superfly Funk Eye was reborn as Superfly Pizza. As the name entails, Superfly pivoted from Japanese finger food to a concise array of classic pizzas and sides, with an eye towards becoming an appealing community eatery for locals to frequent on the regular. Superfly’s menu offers a total of six options to choose from, including pepperoni, pork and fennel sausage, classic margherita, pumpkin and honey, mushrooms and truffle and four-cheese pizza. The menu also boasts snacks such as garlic pizza bread, cured meats, cheese boards, sardines, beef and pork meatballs and rocket and parmesan salad. Superfly’s pizza dough is made on site, with adventurous specials popping in and out of the selection regularly. Superfly is maintaining its discerning approach to drink, stocking a killer selection of minimal-intervention wines, Italian-inspired cocktails, Birra Moretti on tap, and Kaiju craft-beer tins added to the mix. Keep an eye out for Superfly’s pet-nat and pizza nights as well!
