Creative hub Newstead Studios is about to welcome another ray of sunshine to its light-filled space – cafe and retail store Sunroom. Newstead Studios owners Cass and Sam Thies have taken over the nook previously occupied by Loaded Food Co. to launch their own project within their converted warehouse space, supporting local makers and brands through the new cafe and store. In addition to serving Blacklab specialty coffee, daily fresh pastries, gourmet sandwiches and bagels, Sunroom will stock a selection of books, homewares, fragrances and prints personally curated by Cass and Sam. All of the brands stocked are Australian, half of which have been weaved into the Newstead Studios journey in some way – whether through a product launch, creative workshop or photo shoot within light-drenched space. Sunroom is due to open tomorrow, Wednesday November 11, and is giving away free coffees this Friday November 13 and Saturday November 14 to celebrate.
