Substation Gallery at Hands on Art

The substation building in the heart of Paddington is home to one of Brisbane’s best independent arts organisations. Hands On Art, a not for profit arts organisation has been running since the 1970s and helps foster a strong community of creative and people-focused art projects. The Substation Gallery is used to host many visual art exhibitions featuring work by local artists, as well as live music nights on Fridays. Located in the upper levels of the gallery is a space for kid’s art activities, which take place three times a week. Kids can get creative while parents can take in the art at the gallery with a coffee in hand. The space is available for functions and events and makes for an intimate locale for any art-based event.
