Stavros the Greek

Renata Roberts, the brains behind Sichuan Bang Bang and Pizzeria Violetta, has conquered another cuisine with her latest effort Stavros the Greek. The chic venue sits on the corner of Wongabel Street, a few doors down from the original Sichuan Bang Bang and Pizzeria Violetta locations. Much like its ultra-manly name, the Stavros space is masculine, with high ceilings, louvred walls and lots of polished concrete, offset by its feminine adjoining bar Sunset, splashed with apricot and pink tones. Simple modern Greek food is on offer – we’re talking perfectly charred seafood, slow-roasted lamb shoulder, succulent souvlaki, monumental meze platters, flavoursome Greek dips and desserts. Sunset pumps out a range of delcious cocktails and also serves wines from Greece, Australia, New Zealeand and France, as well as a selection of Greek local craft beers. That’s not all – drinkers can pick from nine gins, six mixers and ten garnishes to create the perfect love potion, an offering adopted from Sichuan Bang Bang’s Paddington location.
