Hovering above Bent Books in central West End, Show Peony Parlour is an emporium of eccentric rockabilly, kawaii and Lolita wares, carefully designed costumes and vintage clothing. Owner and costume designer Lisa has created a comfortable lounge area where shoppers can take some time out for a cup of tea before perusing the neighbouring room’s collection of clothing, accessories and retro grooming products that have been sourced from Japan and the US. Lamp lighting and red velvet curtains create a distinct atmosphere in-store, which is aided by sweet vintage melodies and the scent of tea brewing. The parlour additionally hosts regular life-drawing events and performance nights.
