The tiny store is filled to the brim with a collection of hand-sourced accessories, ceramics, fashion, furniture, gifts, jewellery and oriental antiques. Owners Justine Llewelyn and Shozo Terauchi travel to Japan twice a year to source the range found in store. The charm of the store permeates every detail including vibrant oriental tones, rich textures and timber accents. Each ceramic piece at Shibui Homewares is sculpted into a tiny work of art – intricately perfect in its shape and pattern. Detailed descriptions of the history and origin of each piece can be found handwritten on tags, spanning items such as tea cabinets, sewing boxes, display cabinets and vintage kimonos.
