Selina Brisbane

Brisbane’s cadre of inner-city accomodation spots has grown this month with the arrival of globe-spanning lifestyle and experiential hospitality brand Selina on 466 George Street. Blending private and shared accommodation options with co-working, recreation, wellness facilities, Selina (which officially launched in Australia this year with the opening of two locations in Melbourne) allows guests to travel and work abroad with seamless ease. The building, formerly home to Base Backpackers Brisbane Uptown, has been freshly renovated and given a suite of mod-cons. Those looking for privacy can stay in one of the hotel’s micro, standard or large private rooms, while backpackers can soak up a more communal style of accomodation by bunking in one of the community rooms. Its co-working spaces are equipped with high-speed internet, a private phone booth, presentation screens and monitors for hire, while guests can utilise the hotel’s fully equipped, shared kitchen, outdoor cinema terrace and library nook. Selina will also boast an on-site cafe, bar and nightspot called HOWM, where guests and Brisbane locals can pop in for local craft beer, cocktails and a tight menu of eats. We’ll have more info on HOWM in the coming weeks!
