Tucked along the promenade level under Riparian Plaza, Riverbar & Kitchen is the latest foodie venture to join the Riverside precinct. The creation of Matt Moran and Peter Sullivan, the lads behind renowned restaurant ARIA, Riverbar & Kitchen boasts an open-plan floor to maximise water-and-bridge-viewing potential, while the restaurant harnesses the Queensland summer vibe, with a tropical garden reaching out onto the boardwalk. Indoors, quintessential elements like VJ weatherboards, bleached wood and vintage nautical props enhance the tropical weather vibe, while the Pimm’s Jug For Four completes the relaxed atmosphere. The wine list sees Australian flavours come together with those of New Zealand and Europe, while the menu channels a mix of share plates, grills and seafood.

Melbourne Cup: Frock up and rock up to Riverbar & Kitchen on the Eagle Street Pier for what is set to be a swanky cocktail garden party. Pretend you are trackside while being riverside, enjoying a three hours of roving canapes, signature cocktails, Chandon sparkling, East pinot noir and sauvignon blanc, live entertainment, best dressed competitions and full coverage of the big race.
