Quan Thanh

In the simple surrounds of West End institution Quan Thanh, sample exotic fusions of authentic and fresh flavours from the far away shores of Vietnam and China. Straddling both sides of the conveniently placed bottleshop, Quan Thanh splits its offerings to Vietnamese cuisine in the original outfit, and Chinese and Malaysian in the restaurant space next door. The lacy, crisp edges of the Phan Cha Goi Pork Spring Rolls create the perfect crunch when biting in, while the Steamed Rice Rolls with Pork Loaf and Prawn Cake are soft, fluffy and packed with flavour. Quan Thanh is famous for its Pho Tai, containing thin slices of beef, egg noodles, lashings of chilli, thai basil and bean shoots mixed into a clear beef broth. Don’t go past making your own Phan Chao Tom (Prawn Sugar Cane) Rice Paper and Salad Wrap with fresh herbs, crunchy bean shoots, noodles, crushed peanuts, slices of carrot, cucumber and dipping sauce.
