Prospect Studios
While the repercussions of the pandemic will continue to be felt for years to come, its impact on how we prioritise our work-life balance is already being felt. After working from home for an extended portion of 2020, the wants and desires of employees across the world has shifted. A spike in the gig economy and an increasing desire for more flexible work options has resulted in a new wave of co-working spaces emerging to cater to the diversifying needs of Australia’s working populace. Prospect Studios – a unique, home-like working space nestled in the heart of Fortitude Valley – is one of the city’s most popular out-of-the-box office hubs, boasting individual hot desks (with flexible memberships) and an assortment of private studios spread across two rejuvenated spaces. The co-working space has recently doubled in size, with both portions shaped to eschew corporate environment aesthetics. The first portion, event hub Lightspace, has been fashioned out of a smash repair workshop and print factory. Prospect Studio’s new addition – formerly a custom motorcycle workshop – has undergone a similar architectural transformation and now boasts wall art by local artist Rick Hayward in the outdoor working area, a library, four-meter high ceilings, a studio loft and a mix of contemporary and industrial fixtures that hint at the building’s original identity. The Prospect Studios kitchen also features an espresso machine with Foster & Black coffee and T2 Tea available to members, the meeting room is fully equipped with HD TV, whiteboards and the venue also houses podcast and Zoom call facilities. Head to the Prospect Studios website to check out membership options and to arrange a visit.
