The Plough Inn

The Plough Inn is one of Brisbane’s oldest and most beloved venues, standing proud on Stanley Street Plaza in all of its Victorian-era glory. The food on offer is an elevated version of traditional pub fare, adding flourishes to take staple dishes to a more refined level. While classic bites like chicken parmigiana, burgers and buffalo wings are still available, you can also indulge in gems like low’n’slow beef brisket or a semi-dried vine tomato and lemon risotto. One thing’s for sure – quality and consistency is key here. Thirsty patrons are well catered for with a killer selection of drinks on and off tap – you can find local and international beers, wines and spirits in abundance. As for atmosphere, ‘The Plough’ (as it is affectionately called by locals) has it in spades. The 200-person outdoor deck boasts views across the Brisbane River to the CBD, while the breezy beer garden out the front has a stage for live music seven nights a week. Sports nuts are also well catered to, with a big screen showing fixtures across a range of games.
