Renata Roberts has drawn upon her wealth of experience garnered throughout her worldly travels for her latest venture, Pizzeria Violetta. Located next door to Renata’s Chinese restaurant, Sichuan Bang Bang, Pizzeria Violetta serves up authentic Napoli-style pizza straight from its imported, AVPN-approved woodfired pizza oven. The Stefano Ferrara-designed oven does away with gas and electric heating fixtures and is 100 percent woodfired, keeping the pizza preparation as simple and traditional as possible. The menu features white and red pizzas, with classics such as margherita and caprese pizzas sharing menu space with satisfying salads, snack-sized stuzzichini and gelati from Lick! Ice Cream. Pizzeria Violetta sources its small goods from Salumi in New South Wales, while all salad ingredients are sourced locally. The drinks list features a tidy selection of Italian wines, beers, aperitifs and digestives. The small yet elegant space is furnished with imported Italian furniture and decorated with artwork from Brisbane-based artist Kellie O’Dempsey. Keep your eye out for the announcement of a home delivery service in the latter half of 2015 – in the meantime, enjoy some of the best Napoli-style pizza in Brisbane’s west.
