Pizzalunga da Carlo

First things first, the word lunga is Italian for ‘long’, so when heading to Pizzalunga da Carlo in Nundah Village you should make sure that you come hungry – the pizzas are large. The Carlo in Pizzalunga da Carlo is a trained pizzaiolo who migrated to Australia in 2011, bringing with him his technique for crafting impressive pizzas. After working for five years at popular pizzeria Beccofino, Carlo and his wife Leil opened their own joint in Nundah Village in October 2016, offering a range of classic red and white base pizzas in addition to some of Carlo’s specialties. An imported specialty wood-fired oven has been installed to cook the impressive range of pizzas, most notably the sizeable pizzalunga. Pizzalunga da Carlo’s menu offers metre-long and half-metre pizzas, which can me made with several different toppings from the regular pizza menu. Groups of four are suggested for the metre-long monster, while a couple should be plenty to polish off its shorter sibling. Also on the menu is a range of calzoni, desserts and options for kids, with a range of beer, wine, aperitivi and digestivi available to wash down the dough.
