Pig ‘N’ Whistle Brunswick Street

The heritage-listed building which formerly housed restaurants Isis and Ortiga is now the setting for Brisbane’s fourth Pig ‘N’ Whistle pub. Joining sibling venues in the Riverside Centre on Eagle Street, Indooroopilly Shopping Centre and Queen Street Mall, the Fortitude Valley space offers a laidback hangout for a British feast and a refreshing pint. Make the most of Brisbane’s steamy summers in the courtyard boasting a retractable roof, take a seat on the footpath to watch the world pass by or cosy up between the exposed brick walls inside the two-level space. Head chef Michael Muir and executive chef Deniz Coskun combine ingredients from local farms and the Mantle Group’s organic farm in Pullenvale and purpose-built, central kitchen in East Brisbane to craft classic British dishes in the open kitchen. Offering lunch and dinner seven days, as well as weekend breakfasts, the Pig ‘N’ Whistle will kickstart your day with a traditional English feast, treat you to share plates and salads for lunch, and fill the belly with hearty dishes like Kimberley Red flap steak and pizza for dinner. The downstairs wine cellar houses a range of predominantly Australian and New Zealand drops, while the upstairs bar offers eight wines and 18 beers on tap, as well as an old-style English pump tap.
