Straight of the M1 at Eagleby is where you’ll find Perentie Brewing Co., a brewery dedicated to honouring the traditional German lager brewing process. Perentie Brewing Co. is the anchor tenant of Distillery Road Market (DRM), a thriving foodie hub that is already home to the likes of Sugar Creek Smokehouse, Kiwanda Cafe and Posadas Cantina. The concept is the brainchild of Kenton Campbell, founder of Zarraffa’s Coffee and Tonken Property Group (the developer behind DRM), who has created the bespoke $6 million-dollar architect-designed brewery and taphouse. The purpose-built brewing system, which will pump out one million litres per year, utilises classic German lager brewing techniques and authentic German yeast and hops to craft a range of highly sessionable, quality Australian lagers. Perentie’s outdoor bar area gives 200 guests a sunny spot to sip and enjoy views across the Logan River to the original Bickford’s Beenleigh Rum Distillery. On the food front, Perentie serves up a menu that is the perfect accompaniment to a session on the suds – this prawn and bug rolls, cheeseburgers and more, as well as Sugar Creek Smokehouse meats in the outdoor beer garden.
