Peli’s

In less than a fortnight, the team behind Sunshine Coast institution Sum Yung Guys will lift the lid on its newest venture – modern Mediterranean-inspired restaurant, Peli’s. Officially opening to the public at Noosa Marina in Tewantin on Thursday September 12, Peli’s will see lauded restaurateurs Matt Sinclair, Michael Rickard and Jeremiah Jones apply their signature take on hospitality to a waterfront bistro setting inspired by the splendour of the Mediterranean coast. Boasting a vibrant interior scheme wrought from natural materials and warm tones, Peli’s will offer a broad share-style menu that draws inspiration from Greek, Italian and Spanish cuisines, with a few Lebanese and Croatian inflections giving the offering a nuanced feel. A custom-built charcoal grill will put flame and smoke to protein, seafood and vegetables, with stand-out options including the likes of Port Lincoln sardines with pangrattato, citrus and currants, burnt butter carrots with labneh, zaatar and pepitas, barbecue swordfish with ‘nduja-braised cannellini beans and gremolata, and half slow-roasted lamb shoulder with toum, cranberries and parsley salad. Peli’s is also set to become one of Noosa’s best spots to host intimate events, with a 40-seat private dining room overlooking the water likely to be highly sought after for weddings, corporate events and private functions. Peli’s has launched booking for sittings from Thursday September 12 – head to the Peli’s website to snag a table.
