Outta Town Diner

Though we weren’t born in America in the 1950s, everything we have experienced from that era indicates that it was one hell of a fun decade. Elvis, the Twist, drive-in theatres, jukeboxes – the 1950s boasted some all-time classic forms of entertainment but it was the iconic American diner that we’ve long wished would make a comeback. In July 2017 our wishes were granted in the form of Outta Town Diner – a vibrant and happening eatery that draws inspiration from the golden age of American diners. Coorparoo locals Catherine and James gutted the space to full realise their dream of an authentic sit-down diner – overhauling the kitchen, adding new floors and light fixtures, and importing genuine American diner booths and tables from the United States. The menu is chock full of a who’s who of diner classics, including classic crispy fries (and loaded fries), onion rings, sliders, cheeseburgers, chicken burgers, Caesar salads, hot dogs, 50s style banana splits, sundaes, apple pies, milkshakes and thick shakes. Oh, and as if that wasn’t enough, Outta Town Diner will soon be bringing in an authentic jukebox to play all the classic hits, as well as offering liquor service and breakfast in the near future.
