OPA Bar + Mezze

Boasting an aesthetic inspired by the sun-soaked cities of the Greek Islands, OPA Bar + Mezze is perfect for riverside sips and snacks. The brainchild of Michael Tassis, the restaurateur behind Massimo Restaurant & Bar and Yamas Greek + Drink, OPA is born out of Michael’s own upbringing and love of Greek cuisine. After floods ravaged the venue in early 2022, Michael spent four months refurbishing the space, reopening with a spruced up interior and menu. OPA’s offering is best described as authentic Greek dishes modernised with a few contemporary tweaks. The fun starts with breakfast and brunch, which includes sand crab omelette (with kefelograviera and pita bread), Cypriot eggs (poached eggs with yoghurt sauce, spices, mortadella and village bread), rizogalo (Greek rice pudding with poached pear) and an egg yiros, which sees a warm pita filled with fried eggs, mortadella, kefalograviera, haloumi chips, loukaniko sausage and a dollop of lemon-mustard sauce. The lunch and dinner menu boasts the likes of soutzoukia ‘beef’ tartare, horiatiki, an assortment of mezze, wagyu beef moussaka, lamb fricasse, pastitsio, spanakopita and a giant range of seafood. A range of signature cocktails, Greek beers, wines and spirits will keep guests suitable watered as they feast.
