Speaking of mouth-watering barbecue, Deception Bay will soon be the recipient of a meaty joint of its own as of this weekend. The brainchild of pitmaster Chris Worthington, Old Skool Barbeque is a 60-seater BYO-friendly eatery specialising in woodfired smoked meats – the kind carefully cooked low’n’slow style until it’s fit to melt in your mouth. The menu will feature the likes of Chris’ Pitmaster Platter – piled high with ten-hour smoked brisket, pork, jalapeno and cheese sausages, and sides – brisket cheeseburgers, pulled-pork burgers, and a double-ground brisket smash burger. Come 5:30 pm this Saturday February 1, Old Skool Barbecue will be celebrating its official launch with live music from blues and roots artist Dan Hannaford. Head along for a bite and a boogie!
