nodo
If you’re anything like us, you may have spent a few weekends scouting around Brisbane for your fix of delicious nodo doughnuts. While you can find these gluten-free babies at several spots in Brisbane, there is now a permanent location for you to satisfy your doughnut desires. nodo opened Australia’s first gluten-free doughnut bakery on the corner of Ella and Chester Streets in Newstead in 2015, immediately setting tongues wagging across town. In addition to its famous gluten-free doughnuts, nodo has been cranking out a fantastic brunch service that has cemented it as a favourite of Brisbane’s discerning diners. After some renovations and upgrades to the kitchen and bakery space in August 2018, nodo has been reinventing its menu seasonally after introducing table service and a range of gluten-free breads and sourdough loaves made in house. Current spring favourites on the menu include the koji fried chicken burger, popcorn prawn toast, porcini waffle and the frozen matcha yoghurt. Java lovers can also delight in sips from the venue’s in-house coffee blend, Roasted by Nodo – it’s a beautiful, ethically sourced blend with notes of butterscotch, stonefruit and milk chocolate (that pairs perfectly with doughnuts, FYI).
