No Sugar Specialty Coffee

Coffee has come a long way from the days of the bitter dark brews that our grandparents used to quaff by the cup. The days of dunking teaspoons of sugar into our coffee are over, especially with the plethora of coffee makers fine-tuning roasts to be naturally sweet as is. Cannon Hill cafe No Sugar Specialty Coffee is named as such because of its commitment to making espresso-based coffee that requires no extra additions. Hospitality veteran Chris Li has linked up with caffeine powerhouse Padre Coffee on the venture, sourcing the roaster’s beans for the cafe’s house blend and single-origin cold-drip brews. Chris also oversees the cafe’s kitchen, which crafts a range of Asian-inspired brunch and lunch dishes. Simple fare such as smashed avocado and breakfast burgers share menu space with adventurous options like the croissant Benedict with bacon, poached eggs, beetroot hummus and hollandaise, buttermilk waffles with seasonal fruits and vanilla ice-cream, miso-sauteed greens, and smoked salmon bruschetta. After 10:30 am the kitchen shifts to offer lunchtime treats including fried-chicken burgers and roasted pumpkin salad, while a cabinet is stocked with sandwiches and sweets. No Sugar boasts room for roughly 40 patrons spread between interior and outdoor tables.
