Naga Thai

Eagle Street Pier received a vibrant splash of good vibes in late-2020 with the arrival of modern Thai restaurant and bar Naga Thai. The venue is a four-year passion project from restaurateurs Andrew and Jaimee Baturo – owners of Libertine and co-founders of The Gresham Bar, Walter’s Steakhouse and Popolo Italian Kitchen & Bar. Naga Thai took over the riverside space previously occupied by Pony, injecting new life into the Eagle Street Pier dining precinct with playful party vibes courtesy of an Anna Spiro-designed interior aesthetic boasting eye-popping bold colours and fabrics, retro decor and more than 150 vibrant glowing lanterns suspended from the ceiling. The restaurant and bar serves up modern regional Thai dishes, with head chef Suwisa Phoonsang (ex-Libertine) paying homage to both Bangkok and the northern village of her upbringing. Guests are treated to a zesty medley of bright and fresh Thai flavours balanced with heat and spice, in dishes such as Moreton Bay bug pad Thai, grilled pork neck salad, massaman beef milk buns and seafood dumpling green curry. The menu will is complemented by a perfectly paired drinks list, filled with fun fresh and fruity stick drinks, lychee wine, Naga Laga and the signature Nagaroni cocktail. Naga Thai is open six days per week for lunch and dinner (closed Mondays). To make a booking, pop over here.
