In 1885, Carl Benz (of Mercedes-Benz fame) patented what is regarded as the world’s first petrol-powered motor vehicle, which he named the Motorwagen. More recently, this name has been adopted by a restaurant, residing in the upcoming Mercedes-Benz Brisbane showroom on Adelaide Street in Brisbane City. Motorwagen is the brainchild of Sam Pask (ex-OTTO Brisbane, Urbane, Esquire), who aimed to reflect the craftsmanship and innovation intrinsic to the Mercedes-Benz brand in his new venture. The kitchen is led by chef Callum Rogers, crafting a creative European-influenced menu that makes the most of fresh and local produce. Motorwagen serves an ever-changing breakfast and lunch menu Monday to Friday, plus dinner Thursday to Saturday, alongside Blackstar Coffee and a concise wine and cocktail list. City dwellers chasing a delicious feed for less can also jump on the $20 workers lunch deal – say goodbye to your soggy sandwich!
