Byron Bay-born Moonshine Coffee Roasters expanded north in 2020, taking over a cafe space on Main Street in Kangaroo Point and transforming it into its first Brisbane bricks-and-mortar outlet. The cosy cafe boasts outdoor dining and a spacious coffee window, from which talented baristas sling espresso-based and batch-brew coffee with a side of convivial banter. The menu is concise, boasting a selection of toasties treats from Jocelyn’s Provisions, doughnuts from Doughluxe, and Wardell Pies. In addition to the coffee, Moonshine Coffee also stocks Good Happy kombucha, HRVST ST juice and Mayde Tea, while a retail section at the rear boasts granola from Three Blue Ducks, sauces from Church Farm, tea blends from Mayde Tea, handmade ceramic mugs and take-home bags of Moonshine Coffee (and even tins of specialty instant). The coming months will see the menu expanded with the addition of avocado toast, fresh salads, 63-degree eggs and smoothies.
