Montrachet

In the final months of 2017, iconic French restaurant Montrachet moved to a new home after 16 years of operation, farewelling its long-standing Paddington space for fresh new digs on Bowen Hills’ King Street. The award-winning, hatted restaurant took over the hero tenancy on the corner of King and Machinery Streets, doubling its capacity and making room for a walk-in cellar. Montrachet’s brasserie-style cooking and signature dishes have carried over to the new location – hello, double-baked souffle with crab meat and gruyere – alongside a number of new creative dishes as the team take advantage of more kitchen space and techniques now available. An all-new patisserie will also be attached to the restaurant in the near future, serving up flaky buttery pastries and lunchtime takeaway baguettes, in addition to a more casual bistro-style offering for those taking advantage of the alfresco seating.
