Mi Raak
Blending elements of Korean, Japanese, Chinese and Thai cuisines, Mi Raak – an Asian-fusion restaurant located in the heart of The Valley – is delivering big on flavour. Owned and operated by the crew behind hidden gem Jeon’s Kitchen (now Freshbowl), Mi Raak takes Jeon’s menu of inspiration-blending fare and delivers it in a bigger setting. The restaurant’s lengthy list of dishes is ideally suited for share-style dining, with guests encouraged to curate a menu from Mi Raak’s array of snacks, cold and raw plates, sashimi, mains, large-format shares and premium barbecue sets. Plates of garlic-soy chicken wings, wagyu beef tataki with homemade yuzu ponzu, whole squid tempura and Jeon’s Kitchen’s famous Nagasaki-style work-fried seafood ramen are stand-out selections, while the cheolpan grill (a steaming griddle-style set up that mixes spicy pork, spicy chicken or soy beef with assorted vegetables) is an interactive centrepiece worth devouring with a group. The Mi Raak team is drawing upon its Korean inspirations with the venue’s beverage program, which pairs a list of Italian wines (a holdover from the venue’s previous identity as Uh Oh Spaghettio) with a range of cleverly concocted soju-infused cocktails.
