If you’re anything like us, you immediately think of cheese, and Melt Brothers is here to realise all of your melty cheesy dreams. After cultivating a legion of fans from its initial Gresham Lane location, Melt Brothers jumped across Queen Street, relocating to Post Office Square in the first half of 2019. If you’ve never sunk your teeth into the crispy outer of a Melt Brothers grilled-cheese sandwich, then you simply haven’t lived. Sure, there’s a classic two-cheese beauty on the menu (The Mouse Trap), but it sits alongside roughly eight gourmet options, such as roast chicken sandwich with mozzarella, tomato, rocket and smokey barbecue sauce, the M.C. Cheesy with mac’n’cheese, maple bacon, mozzarella and aged cheddar, and The Godfather with salami, neapolitan sauce, basil pesto and mozzarella. Crispy tater tots (potato gems) can be ordered on the side (or crushed inside your sandwich, yes!), and you can wash it all down with a Fonzie Abbott coffee. Gluten-free, vegetarian and even vegan friends are catered for (yes, vegan ‘cheese’!), so you don’t have to exclude them from your grilled-cheese binge.
