Masters St Coffee

Newstead’s Masters Street scored a new caffeine purveyor in April 2019 – aptly named Masters St Coffee. The cafe is the second solo venture from barista-turned-owner Andrea Cook, the gal behind Brisbane City’s Fifty Fifty Coffee Co. Much like its sibling venue, Masters St Coffee focuses on specialty coffee, sourcing its beans from Sydney roaster Single O for its milk-based brew and Reuben Hills for its black coffee. Masters St is a progression from Fifty Fifty’s hole-in-the-wall space, however, with more seating and room to sit down to enjoy simple eats including coveted Butterbing cookies to pastries from Danny’s Bread and some sweet things from Alphabet Cafe. Ollie Burscough from Woodsters has spearheaded construction of the minimalist fit-out, which uses recycled elements from Fifty Fifty and sharp black trim reminiscent of the building’s architecture.
