Massimo Restaurant & Bar is the Italian-inspired sibling of Opa Bar + Mezze. Owned and operated by Michael Tassis, Massimo takes a streamlined approach to Italian cuisine, serving up uncomplicated dishes that use fresh produce and genuine flavours to do the talking. After it was flooded in 2022, Massimo reopened to the public with a fresh Amalfi-inspired aesthetic, with orange-and-white-striped booths, orange umbrellas and new fixtures giving the restaurant a new lease on life. The menu was similarly overhauled – tantalising new eats include whipped ricotta dip with house bread, chargrilled one-point lamb racks, spaghetti with whole marron, porchetta served with leek and lentils, slow-cooked beef cheek with bone marrow and vinegar gremolata, and house doughnuts filled with Nutella and pistachio cream. On Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, Massimo pulls out all the stops for a bottomless lunch deal, with a range of banquets available alongside two hours of bottomless wine, sparkling and beer.
