Willpower is futile in the face of the macaron, so we suggest exercising caution when traipsing past the new headquarters of Marché du Macaron. The premium, handmade treasures first launched in Brisbane in 2011 but now they’ve found a permanent home in Gordon Park, with the retailer baking the goods on-site in a quaint cottage on Thistle Street. The classic range features delights like raspberry, vanilla bean, salted caramel and lavender chocolate, as well as seasonal additions such as a hot cross bun flavour for Easter. A bench and dog-leash hook are strategically positioned outside the front door for when the cravings hit hard, and more tables as well as coffee are on the way. Customers who can’t make it to Gordon Park can still place their orders online or by phone and have their bounty of goodness delivered the following day.
