Loaded Food Co

Katie Zahner cut her teeth in the hospitality industry as a chef at notable restaurants such as Aria, 1889 Enoteca and Crosstown Eating House. Seeking a change of pace, Katie has embraced a more casual food experience with new venture Loaded Food Co, grab-and-go outlet with scrumptious offerings. Located in a former electoral office on Waterworks Road, the space has been fitted out with a kitchen boasting an oven for regular cooking and another for strictly gluten-free preparation. Every morning, Katie prepares the goods for the day, which encompass fresh salads, frittatas, sandwiches, pastries and sweet treats. Loaded Food Co sources some of its great produce from local business including Meat at Billy’s, Ashgrove Fresh and Rufus King Seafood. Upon opening, Katie updates Loaded Food Co’s social media pages with what is on offer for that day. Items such as corned wagyu beef sandwiches, lamb shoulder and haloumi sausage rolls, sticky date cheesecake and Bluefin tuna, radish and cape-berry salad are some of the goods patrons can grab takeaway. Loaded Food Co stocks Black Sheep Coffee, juices, organic soft drinks from Dalesford and homemade chai. 50 percent of all good are gluten-free, with plenty of treats for kids. The coming weeks will see Loaded Food Co add dinner items available until 6:00 pm on Thursdays and Fridays, including salads, roast lamb legs and briskets for those looking for an easy take-out dinner option that is just as hearty as a home-cooked meal.
