Lewin Street Store
Lewin Street Store is a new corner store in Bardon – a place to pick up bread and milk, and enjoy a cup of coffee alongside a cheeky sweet treat. In the miniature grocer, plants are dotted about the space, with the fit-out featuring humble wood detailing and recycled furniture. Genovese coffee is made on Barambah milk or Bonsoy, and served in a vintage cup. The fresh produce and products in-store have been sourced as locally as possible, with Leavain bread, croissants and spelt chocolate chip cookies sidling up alongside Barambah milk, yoghurt and cheese. A gentleman who lives two streets over is bringing in honey from his hives, a local lady is supplying fresh bunches of basil, and another provides the kale. A group of special education students picks the veggies for the shop through a market program, completing the community involvement circle. On the shelves you’ll find a mix of everyday basics like Nurofen, Vegemite and toothbrushes with good-quality olive oil, organic couscous and Byron Bay Macadamia Muesli.
