Industry Beans

Famed Melbourne-born specialty coffee outfit Industry Beans arrived in Brisbane in late 2019, and has since amassed a devoted following of coffee enthusiasts. The sizeable venue boasts a 144-seat cafe, a sizeable roasting operation and a greenhouse filled with coffee trees, not to mention function spaces, wholesale operations, offices and training facilities. Melbourne-based architectural and interior design practice Design Office shaped the aesthetic of the Newstead venue, implementing a light and bright design with lots of greenery, cleanliness and attention to detail that reflects Industry Beans’ considered approach to coffee. You can get your daily dose of java with a cup of the venue’s signature Newstead espresso blend, a seasonal blend or a rotating selection of single-origin espresso varieties. Filter sips are available in batch brew and cold brew, with the Fitzroy Iced (cold brew, wattleseed, panela and milk) being a favourite among the fervent coffee crew. The venue’s seasonal all-day dining menu features a bevy of delicious, fresh dishes that are made using local produce. Industry Bean’s menu hero is the Porcini Nest, a gorgeously curated dish that features a porcini-dusted egg sitting in a potato nest amongst wild mushroom duxelle, kale, pickled mushrooms and truffle oil. Other mouth-watering eats include the likes of the avocado smash with whipped ricotta, sunrise lime gel, beetroot dust, green tea sea salt and sourdough and the coffee-rubbed wagyu burger, set on a charcoal bun filled with chilli jam, cheddar and pickled zucchini. Level up your spread with the cafe’s range of signature coffee cocktails including a house espresso martini made with the Newstead blend espresso and a cold-brew negroni.
