Industry Beans Adelaide St.

Beloved specialty coffee roaster Industry Beans doubled its Brisbane presence in 2020, opening a new coffee bar on Adelaide Street in Brisbane’s CBD. The expansion came a year on from the arrival of the Melbourne-born operation’s 150-seat cafe and coffee roastery in Newstead, which wasted no time in becoming a popular institution for Brisbane’s brunch crowd. The sibling venue takes some cues from Industry Beans’ CBD locations in Sydney and Melbourne, with a streamlined service model facilitating peak-hour grab-and-go rushes. Melbourne-based architects March Studio have conceptualised Industry Beans Adelaide St.’s responsive design, with a large white coffee bar (big enough to seat ten and equipped with state-of-the-art coffee equipment) and detailed panelling on the walls and ceiling helping creating a crisp and modern feel. The coffee spot serves Industry Beans’ Newstead blend and a seasonal blend for milk-based espresso coffees, as well as rotating single origins for both espresso and filter sips. Fans of more elaborate beverages are encouraged to get acquainted with Industry Beans’ cold-brew drinks range, which includes the Bubble Coffee (cold-brew coffee, coffee-soaked tapioca pearls and regular milk or a mixture of vegan condensed and oat milk) and the Fitzroy Iced (Fitzroy Street cold brew, wattleseed, organic panela and milk of choice). In addition to the brew, Industry Beans Adelaide St. stocks a curated range of pastries and retail goodies – think beans, equipment, packaged treats and ready-to-drink cold-brew cans.
