Hoo Ha Bar

Hoo Ha Bar has been a fixture of South Brisbane’s hospitality scene since 2013. Originally operating as a craft-beer bar on Tribune Street, Hoo Ha relocated to Melbourne Street in 2018, where it cemented itself as a go-to coffee spot. In 2023, Hoo Ha returned to its nighttime roots, opening on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings as a wine bar. These days, guests can stroll in early for coffee and light bites, or pop in after dark for drinks and small plates. The team is stocking an ever-changing selection of wines, with ten by-the-glass options pouring of an evening – including effervescent pet nats and attention-grabbing natural wines, which will available alongside a small selection of craft-beer tins, Australian spirits and a short cocktail list. Hoo Ha’s nighttime menu is snack heavy and similarly local focused. The team is teaming up with homegrown suppliers like Fino Foods and Riser Bread to source sourdoughs and smallgoods, plating up sourdough with brown butter and stracciatella, mortadella with bread and butter pickles, pork and pistachio terrines with kimchi stone fruit, smoked mussels with potato crisps and pickled chilli, and crumpets topped with pickled mushrooms, mutabal and fresh herbs.
